Tale til Tove

Volund og Jakob hold en flott tale til Tove og for alle som kom pÃ¥ Internasjonaldag. De fortalte oss om sporprosjektet sitt som handler om hvordan vi skal fÃ¥ flere deltakere hit. Her er hva de sa: Volund and Jakob made a great speech to Tove and for all who attended International Day. They were telling us about their Spor Project on how to get more Villagers. Here’s what they said:

Skogfjorden is one thing every deltaker looks forward to throughout the year and will always continue coming back year after year. Skogfjorden has for decades and continues to have the highest villager and staff return rate in all of CLV.  Most CLV villages expect villagers to come back 1, 2, or 3 years, but here at Skogfjorden our villagers become enchanted by the magic of Skogfjorden and wish to continue their involvement.

For example at international day yesterday there were 3 Skogfjorden villagers on stage with 30 years of villager experience between them.  We had the only 10-year villagers at I-day!  In fact, of the ten 10-year villagers at CLV this summer….8 of them are from Skogfjorden!  But none of their feats compare to that of our dean and NOW knight Tove Irene Dahl….

Tove has been working her magic at Skogfjorden for 37 years, 31 of those as staff. Every deltaker loves Tove because she is the blood, heart, and soul of skogfjorden. She is a mother and a guide, a friend and a teacher, and most recently a knight of Norge. Although we are honoring her by naming her as a knight today, she’s always been our knight in shining armor here at Skogfjorden. When Tove spoke to the deltaker about her knighthood, she spoke of it as an honor as if it was recognizing all of Skogfjorden which shows two things:  Her humility and her willingness to share each and every ounce of her life to make Skogfjorden a better place. When of the thinking of the title knight, one  usually thinks of swords, shields and shining armor, but to us here at Skogfjorden a knight is someone who is selfless and serves a greater cause, someone who fights for what is true and right, someone like our Dean, Tove.

With this in mind we would like to propose a goal and gift to Tove and Skogfjorden, (her life’s work). The gift we are talking about cannot be wrapped in a box or have a ribbon tied around it. This gift we are proposing is deeper than that. So….we propose an aggressive campaign to give Tove her favorite thing of all, more villagers. Our goal is to bring in more villagers by 2013, Skogfjordens 50th anniversary, by having all of our nine hytter from Hamar to Tromsø full to the brim with deltaker for a complete 12 weeks. As part of our sporsprojeskt we have created information on how you can help us move towards this goal by recruiting new villagers!

Tusen takk alle sammen og Tove…

Your tool may not be a sword, but you truly are our knight in shining armor.
